More new toys

Well I am finally getting a new gaming rig.  My old P4 2.53ghz 533fsb rig has served me well for the past few years and it is time to get a new machine.  Here is what I ordered.

Intel P4 2.8C 800fsb
Abit IC7-G motherboard
Enermax 470 watt psu with dual 12v rails
Western Digital 80GB hard drive with 8mb buffer
Western Digital 160GB hard drive with 8mb buffer


What I already have

Liteon 52x32x52x CD-RW
Liteon 52x CD-Rom
1GB Kingston PC 4300 ram

For right now I am going to use My FX 5600 256mb video card that was in my old gaming rig and stick a GeForce 4 MX 4000 in the old rig.  I really don't want to go out and spend a whole lot of money on a system when a lot of new things are going to be coming out fairly soon.  That is why I opted to get a 2.8ghz instead of a 3.4ghz processor.  I also don't really want to send a lot of money on a video card as PCI Express will start to become a little more popular in the next year.  I also couldn't really afford to go all out on this system either after spending 20 grand on new computers within the last 6 months.

I could care less about Doom 3.  It is Half Life 2 that I am wanting to play.

Well right there you have the requirements for doom and I'm sure Half Life but I'd shoot for Doom if I had those specs... Just becuase I could I guess heh
