I have the AMD 2500 and would like to unlock it to try some minor over clocking until I get a new heat sink.  Anyone know of a REALLY good tutorial to use?  I don't want to mess up my processor.

I know a good tutorial, its in my head.

First off, it depends on what motherboard you have.  A 2500+ is not easy to unlock (I wouldn't EVER try it) but instead just up the Front Side Bus from 166 in increments of 4 until the computer not longer POSTs (Boots) or is stable.  Then you can either: Up the VCore (CPU Voltage) very slightly (never go above 10% higher then stock) and see if its stable, or you can lower the FSB slightly.  I'd suggest using at least PC3200 RAM so you can obtain a 200 FSB, which that chip should have no problem doing.  PC3200 with very tight timings is best.

If you still have questions, let me know.

I got my FSB up to 200mhz is there anyway to get above that. I got pc3200 ram, and the whole shebang. Ive been having bad luck trying to get over that....

To achive 2.0ghz try upping your FSB to 200 and your multi to 10x.. Thats what i currently have mine set at w/ a stock vcore.

general, if it wont go over that did you try uppign the vcore? and rerouting cables so it cools better? remounting the hsf unit? all of that stuff?  is it a mobo problem that wont let you over?  if it is try flashing the bios.  otherwise thats about it. all thats left is the multi to raise.
