Yeah I have heard of it but I haven't followed it at all. Handheld gaming has never interested me.

I think nintendo has them beet on this one. Saw one when TechTV was doing an E3 special. The nintendo one looks pretty sweet. It's supposed to have built in wifi so that makes for wireless gaming.
But i'm with byteme (neb), not much of a handheld gamer either. I played pokemon when I was in like 5th grade on the old gheto grey gameboy but thats about the extent of my handheld gaming.

About the wifi thing, the PSP will have it as well, and here is the best part. The wifi is going to be made by Sony as well as the Nintendo DS's wifi by Nintendo. Ten seconds into playing the game, Nintendo's wifi is going to crash and burn.

Jsut because sony makes Nintendo's wifi doesn't mean it is going to "crash and burn" Most companies don't even make their own products but instead jsut stamp their name on the finished product. Why would Sony want to do something to the wifi for Nintendo's wifi anyways and risk the chance of being sued. Sony would also be making money off of a competitors product.

Believe me, Nintendo isn't smart enough to buy someone elses wifi and smack thier name on it. They are going to try and make their own, and when they do, I can sit back and laugh.

O I must have read your post wrong or something. Anyways since Nintendo hasn't really done anything with wifi in the past it wouldn't supraise me if Nintendo has problems with there wifi. After awhile hopefully they will figure it out and they will have a good product (If only microsoft would do that).

Jsut because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them hard headed. It is basic business logic that when a company gets into producing a new type of product that they are most likely going to have problems with the product. However most companies over time learn from their mistakes and fix the problems.

I never said that they were hard headed just because they don't see what I see. Its obvious that Nintendo cannot make wifi, but yet they are still doing it themselves.

Currently, I think the only thing that's going against the PSP is its battery life. Sony claims around 2.5 to 10 hours can be pulled out of their device. But with real solid use, you're automatically shot down to the 3-4 hour range. In light of this info, I still plan to get the PSP due to its wicked release list. Games like Twisted Metal, Metal Gear Acid, Gran Turismo 4, and Dynasty Warriors are making thise handheld look very tempting to me. I plan to have any money I need for this baby ready to spend by its release somewhere around March of next year. Ace also informed me not too long ago that Nintendo has pushed back the date of the DS release [I assume due to their redesign of the unit]. It is not planned to be debutted around the same time as the PSP. And if you take a look at the new DS, you'll find that it looks much more wicked than the E3 showroom model. I can't wait for either of these handhelds, despite the fact that I'm a Sony soldier.
