I have been washing my dad's boat for a while and he pays me the usual 20, and instead I made a proposition that If he got me a new 160 gig HDD the he wouldn't have to pay me for 5 months of boat washings. After coming t know that I could upgrade my computer at the expence of my dad now(and a bit of labor), Ima ask him if I can upgrade my video card from my FX5200.
Here are some I have in mind:
eVGA FX5700 Ultra w/ 128MB DDRII : $159
Chaintech FX5900XT 128MB : $175.75
XFX FX5800 Ultra 128MB w/ DDRII : $179

I would go with the 5900XT. It will serve you well for a long time.

The ROFLCOPTER is an important part of the defense of LOLrville. Along with the LMAOplane, TTYLnukes, and our troops carrying AFK47s, the ROFLCOPTER is used as a mobile troop carrier, and anti-TTYLTank weapons platform.

Well, I have seen that the 5700 Ultra is just a bit slower than a 5950 by 50 MHz even though it doesn't have the same 256MB memory, and the 5700 Ultra is recommended for Doom3 but I'm not a video card guru (really I'm not).

I jsut noticed that the 5700 you listed has DDRII and the 5900XT doesn't. I haven't looked at any benchmarks for the current DDRII cards so I don't know how they would perform against a 5900XT with regular DDR.
