hi all ive tacken the decission to upgrade my CPU for the first time and was wondering what people thought would be right for me, the processor is all i can afford to upgrade at this time so getting a new 64bit AMD mainboard and CPU is out of the question (one can only dream). any how this is the spec of my curent system.

Motherboard = Intel D845GVSR
CUP =Intel Celeron D 2.80 GHz 487 socket
FSB 355 MGz

The fastest processor that your motherboard supports is the 3.06GHz P4 with 533mhz fsb.  I don't really know if it would be worth it for you to upgrade your processor.  You might be better off saving up a little more and buying a new processor and motherboard.

I'd agree with neb there it would be better to bet a 775 board and maybe a 3.4ghz pentium 4 and then wait and upgrade to conroe or get a new mobo and a conroe when they are released.
