Sign my board is failing?
«

Lately my rear USB ports have been failing. The board is an Abit NF7 from about 4 or so years ago. I'm just wondering if this is a sign of things to come or possibly another problem I should be able to fix. Thanks.

What do you mean by they have been failing? Do they not work at all or do they work intermediatly when something is plugged into them?

Like, they work when the computer first starts but then as the day goes by they stop. For instance I've got an iPod and a wireless mouse/keyboard set up plugged in and as the day goes by both stop working to the point where I can't even plug them into other USB ports in the back, I just need to restart.

I couldn't really say for sure. It could either be a problem with your motherboard or it could be a problem with windows itself. However, it sounds like it is more likely that it is a motherboard problem.

Wonderful. Well, the iMac's are at the end of their product cycle. It's not like I needed another reason to switch though.
