After switching my components from a regular desktop case into a rackmount server case, my DVD Burner stopped reading and writing DVD's (I don't know about CD's, I haven't tested that yet).  Nothing was changed and nothing was added or removed.

Any ideas on why this would still show up under my computer, but just not be able to read these mediums?

I have also upgraded the firmware on the drive.  it sees it and does the upgrade without any problems.

Sorry I missed this one.  I can only think of two possibilities here, but they are pretty obvious: software or hardware problem.  If you have upgraded the firmware for the drive it's rather unlikely that it's software anymore, because usually a firmware upgrade will fix the problem.  What brand/model is it?  Also, still able to rma it?

Its a pioneer DVR1100 I think.  I forget exactly.  I might be able to RMA it, but I doubt it.  I will try to swap it with another pc soon to se if that does anything for me.  I just haven't had the time.

I looked up the drive, couldn't find any results for the product. I'd recommend the RMA to be honest, if you can that is.  Unlikely that it will work in another pc, but it's worth a shot before dealing with the RMA hassle.  Smiley
