Introducing... Wii.
As in "we."

While the code-name Revolution expressed our direction, Wii represents the answer. Wii will break down that wall that seperates videogame players from everybody else. Wii will put people more in touch with their games... and each other. But you're probably asking: What does the name mean?

Wii sounds like "we," which emphasizes the console is for everyone. Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.

Wii has a distinctive "ii" spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people playing it. And Wii, as a name and a console, brings something revolutionary to the world of videogames that sets it apart from the crowd.

So that's Wii. But now Nintendo needs you. Because it's really not about you or me. It's about Wii. And together, Wii will change everything.

Crazy name.  Dunno how it will affect sales but the whole internet is talking about it...for good or for bad!  Smiley  Perhaps not such a good name, but definitely generating the buzz.  Tongue  What are your thoughts on the new name?

Agreed, but don't you agree that the buzz it's generating is crazy?  Cheesy

Saw some good videos on the net of games for Wii.   Apparently they had many completed games that people were playing at E3, so they seem ready for launch already.  I think the graphics of the game, the new controller, and the name are going to make this console one thats remembered for a long time to come.

I caught one, was the smash bros one.  That looked pretty cool, and had some humor in it too!  Tongue  We'll see...

Wii will be the best of the 3 next-gen consoles.  Microsoft is losing their butt again.  No surprise there...
