I have been wondering for a long time what different types of hard drives there are. The only one I know of is IDE and I am very interested in learning about them and what differences they make on your machine. If any one could inform me on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

The four main types of hard drive interfaces are IDE, SATA, SCSI, and Fibre Channel.  There are also several different standards under each of those interfaces.

That is the best site that I have found for explaining the differences.  If you need any clarification please feel free to let us know.
