Linksys wifi software

Whenever I try to install the Linksys wifi software the screen will stay up for about 2 seconds and then close. I would jsut use the xp wifi config software but I have noticed that my laptop disconnected a lot when I used the xp wifi config. I install the linksys software and now my laptop never disconnects from the network. I thought that perhaps windows had been screwed up somehow so I reloaded windows and I still get the same problem. Then I thought that it might be something that was running on the computer so I booted into safe mode and tried to install it but I still had the same problem.
I am running XP Pro with a Linksys WMP54G pci wifi card. If you need any other info please feel free to ask.

I am not having a problem with the drivers themself. I am having a problem with the Linksys configuration utility.

I have a D-link pcmcia card for my laptop and haven't had that problem connecting to my wireless (linksys) router (WRT54G). I don't really like the way d-link designed the software. However I have had the common problems of disconnecting when WEP is enabled.

I don't use WEP but I do use WPA. That is probably the reason that it keeps disconnecting. The wierd thing is that when I have the linksys wifi config utility running instead of WZC my wifi connection rarely drops. I guess that is windows for ya...
