i am looking at building my own computer (for gaming) and would like to know what is better for gaming athlon 64 3200 or opteron 242. afro

I would go with the Athlon 64 because they are more for gaming and general use than the Opteron. The only reason to get an Opteron would be if you wanted to build a server.
