compatible good start

First I would like to say hello to everyone.  

I'm trying to build my pc on paper before I decide to go out and buy everything. At the moment I'm stuck with a question I can't seem to answer myself.  The 3 major items I am looking at to spend the most on are the cpu, motherboard, and the graphics card. At the same time I would like to keep the total the the 3 under $600, but I have already went over by $5 (according to newegg.com prices).  Here is what I am considering, and I need to know if it is all a compatible good start?

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ ClawHammer/Hammer Integrated into Chip FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - Retail $267

MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail $167

SAPPHIRE 100557SR-RD Radeon 9800PRO 256MB 256-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail $167
