Saturday my town had yardsales throughout and overall things were pretty good. I ended up getting Donkey Kong for the 2600 for only 25 cents. But even better than that I found a box with a keyboard and 2 joysticks in it. I walk up and see that it says free on it, look through and find out it's a Commodore 64. All the cables, the 2 joysticks as I mentioned earlier, and an external floppy disk drive. I take it home, hook it up and it works perfectly.
Now I'm just waiting to recieve an internal 5.25" floppy drive and hopefully some floppy disks to use with it and I'll have some games on here and be set.
Took these pictures today, might take some more later..

Nice find and it is even better because it is working. It you don't see a whole lot of working C64's anymore and might/will be worth a lot of money some day.

Flying majestically over the digital wasteland, blades chopping at the air at 3.4GHz, the mighty ROFLCOPTER soars.
The ROFLCOPTER is an important part of the defense of LOLrville. Along with the LMAOplane, TTYLnukes, and our troops carrying AFK47s, the ROFLCOPTER is used as a mobile troop carrier, and anti-TTYLTank weapons platform.

Yeah I've seen ones bring over like 200 bucks, though they have the Commodore monitors, original games, printers, and tons of other acessories and stuff. But I can always just start collecting them I suppose.

Oooh yeah, I dug up mine a while ago, but the floppy drive went bad. You have the 'newer' version, mine is the black and white model. Damn thing cost my older brother 500 bucks too. I found something to combat failing hardware, the VICE emulator for every os. It is just a nice c64 emulator, but it doesn't match a normal windows keyboard. Links:

<- great archive of downloadable roms
My whole goal with getting out the c64 was to relive the good times of playing archon with the little joystick in black and white. After trying it out again, it sucked, now I hate it. I learned to just let that thing age in peace - but still, the vice emulator is nice, and learning the commodore's BASIC language should be required by law. Everyone needs to learn if/then/or and select case somehow.
I'm cool with having the little thing on display, it's a badge of honor type thing to have a c64 and know how to use it. -Bill
