I was surprised to say the least when I found that site in my usual browsing...

Yeah, that has been out for a few weeks now.  That is actually a pretty smart move for Apple.  I have heard several people say that macs are now worth buying.

When OSX Leopard comes out this "boot camp" deal will be a fully functional part of the OS -- just how has yet to be determined.  It's rumored that it could be a full on parallel system idea where you wouldn't even have to boot into Windows, rather just run the Windows program in OSX.

Yeah, that would be cool to see.  However, I wonder if then people will view Macs like they view Dell and Alienware...aka regular computers.  Is the Apple fire gone if that happens?

No, because the average Joe still wouldn't buy an Apple -- they wouldn't be able to afford it.  Mac's would still only appeal to the high-end user who is willing to pay a premium for the product.  They would just be getting the ability to play Windows based software and games as a bonus.

I think for the Mac this means better software, nothing more really.  I'm not sure if this will mean less platforms for developers to support in the future but it sure would be nice.  Smiley
