AIM's new TOS

Last updated on March 13, 2005, AOL Instant Messenger's Terms of Service mandates that "you waive any right to privacy."

Although you or the owner of the Content retain ownership of all right, title and interest in Content that you post to any AIM Product, AOL owns all right, title and interest in any compilation, collective work or other derivative work created by AOL using or incorporating this Content. In addition, by posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium. Yeah I read that on a slashdot article.  Seriously who ever came up with that PHD idea should be publicly hung

I read an article yesterday that said AOL had meant it to only apply to its rate a buddy site (similar to hot or not) but whoever wrote the new TOS worded it correctly.  AOL was supposed to have a new TOS out yesterday but I haven't had a chance to check it out...
