Long story short is that I was looking into buying a barebones setup for a client who had a bad mobo in his dell.  I researched buying parts separate and found out there is only about a 40 dollar difference between the individual parts and the kit.  I found a case and powersupply that I plan on using but am wondering about what motherboard and processor to get.

The processor I am looking at is this one:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc....-103-342&depa=1
and the motherboard is this one:

If you have any suggestions let me know.  They use it just for a standard setup.  Mainly checking email and surfing the net as well as writing papers.  Their original dell system was a 2.8 ghz intel.  The closer I can get to that the better but I want to keep the cost around $250 or a little more.

i really like that set up.  amd is excellent for ppl who arnt hardcore gamers but still want good performance.  seeing as he had a dell Tongue his expectationgs arnt to high, so yea thats a good pick in my opinion. also if all he is doing is basic stuff like word processing and such u could even get a slower clok spped to save money and not see to much of a difference.

If all the computer is going to be used for is surfing the web, checking email, and word processing I would suggest looking into the athlon xp 2500+.  It seems to offer the most bang for the buck and is more than enough for surfing the web, etc.
