I stumbled across this while I was surfing the internet and figured it might be of interest to some of you. I haven't personally tried it myself but from what I hear from other people it does indeed make the pages load faster.

Dammit. /me points to the broadband only part. I really need to get cable over here. The only thing that is holding us up, is that our cable provider is really, really bad... I forgot about the about:config a long time ago, and especially all the stuff you have to fool around with.

hmm by any chance is techy involved in any way with your cable company? Your cable company sounds kinda like his home network

No, I no longer live in the state or use that cable company. I have a shitty cable company and a shitty telephone provider for my phones and DSL.
You've probably never heard of it before but he's talking about Adelphia cable. They're alright and speeds are decent compared to DSL and all but they're not the brightest company by far. They don't have anything on Verizon or Comcast in service and all.

Exactly, the speed of Adelphia is actually very nice, but it can go down a lot. I know a couple people who Adelphia and they would constanly b**** about how it was down at least once a week, if not more. I'm hoping they are going to go out of bussiness soon and hopefully get a decent provider in. If not, I'll find a good DSL isp and use them.

Yeah the problem I had with Adelphia, though it could have just been my router needing to be reset, was that I would have to reset the modem and router bi-weekly. Other than that the speeds were decent and the only other downtime was during some thunderstorms you might have some downtime during some bad winters but that's about my only other complaints.
