Trillian 3 is finally released.  You do not need to pay to get the advantages of version 3.  There is also a free version of Trillian 3 available.  Get your copy from http://www.trillian.cc

I am using the Trillian 2 Pro version. I don't think I want to upgrade unless there is something extremely better than what I have.

There isn't anything exciting about version 3.  They added video and voice chat support but removed a lot of the IRC features.  The installer is also about 10mb.

I like the serverless chat feature on there that's pretty nice. I think I'm going to upgrade from Pro 2 to Pro 3 soon.

No clue on redevous, allthough I thought it was done away with in os 10.4 (tiger). As for trillian 3, I've always thought that it was running rather slowly - but upgrade to the newest version and it runs ok!

Yeah the newest build of version 3 did make a big improvement in the speed of the program but it still takes awhile to start up.

Yep - I just cracked a copy of trillian 3 pro.... not that any of you should ever do such a thing. Now I think I may buy a copy, pro rocks!!! Having plugins that are working is a good addition.

Indeed it does! The only thing I'm looking for now is a skype plugin (skyllian is BS and doesn't work at all) and jabber voice support a la google talk. If I didin't have to run skype and trillian, I'd be much happier. As it is, trillian has gobbled up all 6 of my IM clients nicely.

I submitted two suggestions to them-
1) when you close the buddy list, the containers still snap to its now invisible edge
2) you can't drag tabs around in a container to organize them. Gaim has that functionality.

Still, it's my favorite IM client, and wouldn't trade it for anything else.
