I feel like overcloking my old PC at the moment, and my friend told me that I could change the clock speed through there. I booted my comp, went into the BIOS and I find nothing about clock speed. I am have the Pheonix BIOS on it. Anyone know anything about it?

What kind of computer is it and what model motherboard is it?  The option to up the fsb speed is usually in the bios however many OEMs disable the option on their computers.  The only way that I know of to get around it would be to find updated or hacked bios for your motherboard and flash the bios.  Be extremely careful when flashing your bios.  If something goes wrong the computer is basically gone.  Other than buying a new bios chip there isn't a whole lot that you can do to get the computer working again.

The computer is an old Packard Bell with a 120mhz proc. I have no clue what the motherboard is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you change some sort of jumper part on the mobo itself?

That is also another possiblity.  I don't know where the jumper would be located though.

I don't even know where one could still get bios for a computer that old.  You might be out of luck.  Perhaps someone else would know.

He is correct.  You would use a jumper or set of jumpers on the board itself to change the clock and bus speeds and all that crap.  I think on the older packard smells they are a set of 3 jumpers (6 pins) and are green or blue.

Good luck, you might be out of luck and if so use the packard smell as a table for a new computer.

Pheonix BIOS is often used by oem's to make it suitable for their computers... AKA no overclocking via the current bios

They can't disappear. They are now known as HP, or Hewlitt Packard.

HP and Packard Bell are two different companies ace... HP was started before Packard Bell stopped selling their products in the US.  Packard Bell is still in business over in Europe.

Packard Bell's website is available at http://www.packardbell.co.uk/index.asp

What the hell. I thought they merged somewhere...or somehow related to each other.

Honestly for what its worth, you'd be wasting your time try to overclock a computer that low.  Even overclocking it 50% would be useless considering that computer probably cannot go past 512ram.  You are better off buying a new unit if your old one lacks speed. As for flashing a bios, a board that old would probably stop working if you flashed the bios, if you really want to make your cpu faster, increase ram if possible, it will be a little bit smoother.
