i was wondering if there were any of those linux distros like knoppix that boot off the cd that work for power pc stuff (heck i dont even know if normal knoppix and such would work)  thanks for helpin'.

Yes, there is. Its called Yellow Dog Linux. http://www.yellowdoglinux.com I have never used it, but I hear that it works decently.

I know there is a PPC version of the Gentoo Live Boot distro.  I would give you a link but I don't have one...

Also doesn't Yellowdog have to be installed on the computer?  Matt is looking for something that is a live boot distro.

i looked for a live-boot linux cd that would work on power pc or any mac a few weeks ago,a nd i couldn't find anything... as far as i know, yellow dog is really the only linux for mac, and it doesn't have a bootable, sorry.

Alien there are quite a few linux distros that work on macs.  Also as I said before Gentoo has a live boot version that works on PPC.

Thats odd... Linux Online's searchable linux distribution database has no english live cds for the ppc architecture
